Mental Health Clinician

LAGS Recovery Centers, Inc. is actively seeking a mental health clinician (LCSW/LMFT/Licensed Psychologist/ASW/AMFT) motivated to make a difference through the opportunity of humanitarian work in Santa Barbara County.

The Mobile Mental Wellness clinician will be the lead team member providing biopsychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, short term counseling, on-going support and linkage with resources for clients’ and their families/significant others. Clients are primarily individuals who are struggling with mental health issues, substance use issues and often are living on the streets. Many may be justice involved.

This position participates in psychosocial aspects of care as a member of the multidisciplinary team meetings; serves as a liaison to community programs.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full time/Part time
  • Day, Evenings and Weekends

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Social Work with a Master’s degree or
  • Licensed by BBS or Board of Psychology, as appropriate.
  • Preferred a minimum of 1 year working with people who are living unhoused.
  • Prefer bilingual in English and Spanish

TYPE OF WORK:

  • Team lead of a mobile mental wellness team; meeting the needs of people struggling with mental illness whether they are housed, living on the streets/riverbed or justice involved.
  • Responds to calls from the local hospital social workers, law enforcement, probation, and County Mental Health.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, effective relationships with partner agencies; law enforcement, hospital social workers and other departments, probation, County Mental Health and community representatives.
  • Performs biopsychosocial assessments and treatment planning/supports for individuals on the streets and/or struggling with mental illness.
  • Establishes rapport, communicates effectively, and empowers individuals/families with diverse cultural norms and spiritual values to maximize and/or develop productive coping mechanisms, behaviors and thought processes.
  • Documents in the patient record in an accurate, concise, and timely manner.
  • Takes a leadership role and helps facilitate multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Fosters an environment of mutual support and professional excellence throughout the organization.
  • Assists with medical appointments, emergencies, and mental wellness checks.
  • Assists in the coordination of referrals to social service providers as required.
  • And other duties as needed.

Psych Technician

LAGS Recovery Centers, Inc. is actively seeking motivated licensed Psychiatric Technicians who are looking for the opportunity to do humanitarian work in Santa Barbara County.

This position is for a licensed Psychiatric Technician who will be part of a mobile mental wellness team, meeting the needs of the community, whether the individual is housed, living on the streets/riverbed or justice involved.  

Primary responsibility for meeting people in the community struggling with mental health issues for support, crisis prevention and wellness checks. Integral part of multidisciplinary team meetings supporting wellness and recovery of patients with psychiatric disorders and their families living in northern Santa Barbara County.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full time/Part time
  • Day, Evenings and Weekends

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPR/ BLS certification required
  • CA Psychiatric Technician license
  • Crisis Intervention Training within 90 days of hire/transfer
  • Preferred experience with assessment of involuntary/persistent mentally ill persons
  • Prefer bilingual in English and Spanish

TYPE OF WORK:

  • Member of a mobile mental wellness team, meeting the needs of people struggling with mental illness whether they are housed, living on the streets/riverbed or justice involved.
  • Responds to calls from the local hospital social workers, law enforcement, probation, and County Mental Health.
  • The Mobile Mental Wellness team conducts mental health assessments, provides crisis counseling, and gives referral and voluntary transport to other social service providers.
  • Assists with medical appointments, emergencies, and mental wellness checks.
  • Reminds homeless about appointments, helps with medications as needed, assists with transportation for appointments.
  • Assists in the coordination of health care needs with other community providers.
  • Assists in the coordination of referrals to social service providers as required.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Performs record keeping functions in accordance with clinic policies.

EMT

LAGS Recovery Centers, Inc. is actively seeking motivated Bilingual Emergency Medical Technicians who are looking for the opportunity to do humanitarian work in Santa Barbara County.

This position is for a bilingual Emergency Medical Technician who will be responsible for conducting basic health screenings as part of a mobile mental wellness team.

Primary responsibility for meeting people in the community struggling with mental health issues for support, crisis prevention and wellness checks. Integral part of multidisciplinary team meetings supporting wellness and recovery of patients with psychiatric disorders and their families living in northern Santa Barbara County.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full time/Part time
  • Day, Evenings and Weekends

REQUIREMENTS:

  • CPR/ BLS certification required.
  • Certification as an EMT.
  • Licensed in California as EMT required
  • Must have at least one year experience within the last 24 months or be a recent graduate.
  • Crisis Intervention Training within 90 days of hire/transfer
  • Prefer bilingual in English and Spanish

TYPE OF WORK:

  • Member of a mobile mental wellness team, meeting the needs of people struggling with mental illness whether they are housed, living on the streets/riverbed or justice involved.
  • Responds to calls from the local hospital social workers, law enforcement, probation, and County Mental Health.
  • Wound care and Basic First Aid.
  • Obtains medical histories and completes necessary paperwork on patients including vital signs. Any medical problems are referred to CHC or individuals PCP.
  • Assists with medical appointments, emergencies, and mental wellness checks.
  • Reminds homeless about appointments, helps with medications as needed, assists with transportation for appointments.
  • Assists in the coordination of health care needs with other community providers.
  • Assists in the coordination of referrals to social service providers as required.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Performs record keeping functions in accordance with clinic policies.
  • And other duties as needed.
